fit onto one page and check all spelling. The Discovery School

This can earn you a half a point for each term you correctly use.
This assignment will earn you up to ten points towards any quiz
in the quarter. REMEMBER TO DO A CROSSWORD PUZZLE, NOT A WORD

Think up a question you could test. Have it approved by your
teacher. Go to the link below and print out the rubric for
conducting your own experiment based on your question/hypothesis.
This will earn you up to ten bonus quiz points.

Watch the daily 10 minute news video, print out the 10 questions
that go with that day and answer them completely to earn 1 quiz
point for every question answered accurately! You can do this
every day if you want to!
CNN Student News
Listen to a podcast article and write a one page summary of its
contents. What was the main idea? Explain at least 3 supporting
details. Conclude with a statement that explains what can be
learned from this article. You can earn up to 10 quiz points.

With your parents' permission, search youtube.com for appropriate
mini-videos that have to do with what we are learning. Remember
when I showed the cornstarch and iodine demonstration in class?
For extra credit you should watch it in its entirety, email the
link to me and include a 1 paragraph summary of the video's
contents. Be sure to tell me why it should be shown in science
class.

Watch a TV show and Get Extra Credit!
Another way to earn extra credit is to summarize a science television show.
Suggested shows include Animal Planet's 10 Most Extreme, Bill Nye, The Magic
School Bus, Nova etc. Some shows from the National Geographic Channel,
Discovery Channel, and The Learning Channel may be appropriate for this
assignment. Parents or guardians must pre-approve the show, validating that
it is strongly science based, and sign your one page written or typed
summary. You can earn up to five bonus test points for half hour shows and
up to 10 bonus points for shows that are one or more hours.
