RULES FOR ROUNDING
Whole Numbers
1.) Locate the place
 		Round to the thousands place
			45,672,823
2.) Refer to the place immediately to the right of the place you are rounding
to. In the number above, it would be the 8 in the hundreds place.

			45,672,823
a) If it’s a 0-4, keep the number in the underlined place the SAME!
Turn the remaining places into zeros
      		5,924,108 becomes 5,924,000
b) If it’s a 5-9, add 1 to the place you are rounding to, and add zeros to
the remaining places.
      		5,924,608 becomes 5,925,000
REMEMBER to recopy the digits to the LEFT of the place you are rounding
to!!!!!!!

Decimals
Follow the same rules above, except the digits to the right of the place you
are rounding to DO NOT become zeros!!!!!!

Round to the thousandth place
		56.123479 becomes 56.123
			NOT 56.123000
		203.2578045 becomes 203.258
			NOT 203.2580000
This would mean you just rounded to the ten-millionth place. It’s the same
value, but you didn’t follow directions! : (
