Teacher Mini-Grants

The Mini-grant program offers teachers the ability to enhance their classrooms through
innovative teaching aids and materials, which also demonstrate a clear link to the WRSD
curriculum. In the past, this program has provided teachers with additional supplies,
speakers, books, etc., that they did not have the budget for. For example, our music
department has obtained sheet music, teachers have acquired software, the art
department was able to subscribe to a Scholastic Art magazine, and a robotics kit was
purchased for the Tech Ed department.

When a teacher is interested in applying for a mini-grant, he/she submits a proposal to
the PTO describing their request, identifying how many students it will reach, and
defining how the subject matter connects to the curriculum. Each grant has a maximum
budget of $750, with the total for all grants set at $3000 per year. The volunteer committee
then reviews the proposal.

Sterling Standout Program Bulletin Board

If you walk in to the main office of Chocksett School, you will see a
bulletin board with blue stars on it and a matching mailbox. We are
planning on posting all the great things our students are doing or
accomplishing (volunteer activities, academic achievements, musical,
dramatic or artistic accomplishments, sports or scouting achievements or
anything else that you are proud of.) We need your help in finding the
information to put on our board. Please put any information or pictures you
have in the blue star mailbox in front of the bulletin board in the main
office and we will put them on the board. Thank you!
