Please make sure that you check your child's planner regularly.
Students need a pen and a pencil every day.
This year, six grade students will be following the guidelines of the
Reader's Workshop as well as Writer's Workshop
Students must a book to read at all times. Some class time is set aside
daily for independent reading. there is variety of books in the classroom
and in the school library.
Each student is required to complete a journal entry each week. They are
also required to complete a daily log of their reading at home. Twenty
minutes independent reading is required nightly.
The schedule for turning in theses assignments follows:
Tuesday: Section #1
Wednesday: Section #2
Thursday: Section #3
Friday: Section #4
This schedule does not vary. It will remain the same for the rest of the
year.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS MUST SIGN STUDENTS' READING LOG. YOUR SIGNATURE INDICATES
YOUR GUARANTEE TO ME THAT THE READING HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.

WILL ALSO BE OUT ON 1/6 FOR PRE-OP TESTING. MRS. WESTERLIND WILL BE TAKING
OVER FOR ME. SCHEDULES AND INSTRUCTION WILL CONTINUE WITHOUT INTERUPTION.
PLANNERS WILL CONTINUE TO BE SIGNED NOTING ANY MISSING WORK. IF YOU HAVE
