<DIV>NewsFlash for December 7th, 2009: 
Holiday Giving - Food for Families 8th Grade Commuity Service Project 
Once again the students of Chockett Middle School will be reaching out to families in need during this holiday season.  After many years of working with a homeless shelter in Worcester, we recognize that there are several families in need in our own community. 
 
It is no secret that many people have fallen on hard times.  They are working to meet the basic needs in their home.  Rather than collecting toys this year, the 8th grade class is spearheading "Food for Families Fundraiser".  We are asking students to help us raise as much money as possible to help put a holiday meal on the table of our neighbors in need.  All donations will go to purchase gift cards for local supermarkets and area WalMart stores to help ease the burden and spread some joy. 
 
Every penny counts!  Please donate what you can to help make this season bright.  You may send in your monetary donation with your child, or drop it off in the main office (sent to the attention of Ms. Hicks or Mrs. Petit) by December 17th.
