What is an Instructional Technology Specialist?

An Instructional Technology Specialist job is to facilitate the integration
of technology into the curriculum. They work with teachers to help them
enhance their classrooms by incorporating technology into new or existing
lessons. They assist teachers in the computer lab or in their classrooms
with a COW. They also run professional development workshops for staff. For
the current school year due to budget cuts I will be back in the classroom
teaching computers once a week to Grades 6-8. I will be the ITS 4 periods a
week.I am always working on ways to enhance student's learning through
integrated lessons.

What does it mean when my child tells me he has an account at school?

All students in Grades 7-8 have 'an account' which means they have a
username-
--year of graduation---last name---first initial. This account is password
protected---students decide on a password and only they and the teacher know
it. Students have internet access for school use. All students must return
their acceptable use policy before using the internet. There is a copy in
your child's agenda. On my web site under Handouts is the AUP and Media
Reease Forms.

the current school year. Students must follow the guidelines as listed on
