Weekly Bulletin

HOME EDUCATION BULLETIN MRS. PUGLISI ROOM 215

May 21, 2012

NAME:

Hello Families,

This morning was our Olweus Assembly. Please ask your child about the assembly. They will be wearing a new shirt that represents Cole School and our anti-bullying policies. Most importantly, continue to talk with your child about how to treat others with respect. We have been talking about this all year, and how it is important to make good decisions even when no one is looking.

Continued math fact practice is much appreciated as those students with rapid recall are completing their math assignments with greater ease and accuracy.

SPELLING: no formal list this week. Please use www.spellingcity.com to review any units from 1 to 22, especially U. 21-22. For the remainder of the year we will focus on days of the week, months of the year, and money words. There are also lists for continents (may be worth having fun with over the summer:)

MONDAY: ADD# 77. Read FLUENCY Passage (Let’s Marry Said the Cherry).

TUESDAY: ADD #78. Read Fluency Passage.

WEDNESDAY: ADD# 79. Pack LIBRARY book.

Please return this sheet on Friday.  Be sure all parts completed have been initialed.  This homework sheet will be used, in part, to determine the homework report card grade.  From the Boxford Schools Handbook Homework policy for Grade 2: “Students will usually be assigned homework 3 to 4 times per week. Assignments should be limited to 15 to 20 minutes in length.  Students are expected to read each night for 20 minutes minimum in addition to the assigned homework.  Continuous review of basic math facts is required.”
