What is the Book Club and how do we join?
The Cole School Book Club is a way for families to donate great books to our library in honor of a special event in their family, such as a child's birthday. Every few months, a letter goes home to students whose birthdays are approaching to remind families of this program with specific instructions as to how it works. Please call or email us here at the library to find out more about this PTO sponsored program.Back to Top
My child lost a school library book. What happens next?
If you are certain that a library book has indeed been lost, let us know and we will send home a bill for the replacement cost of the book. Your child WILL be allowed to take home a library book during this process. Often times, the lost book is eventually found (in the darndest places!), in which case, you will be cheerfully refunded.Back to Top
Is my child able to choose any book from the library?
Yes, unless we hear specific instructions from home that you would prefer to set limitations on your child's library book choices. We find that with guidance, most children choose a book that interests them and that they will enjoy borrowing. Being able to make choices is an important part of a child's educational experience. We endeavor to offer them a wide variety of books in order to appeal to a wide range of reading interests and abilities.Back to Top
What happens if my child forgets a library book on library day?
We all forget once in awhile! Busy families do their best to help children be responsible. When a book is left home on library day, your child will be given an opportunity to save a book for the next day(s) when he/she remembers to bring the overdue book back to school. Students are also provided with other library activities during book check-out time if they forget their library book that day.Back to Top
