Dear Parents,


I’d like to welcome all of the children as well as their families to kindergarten at Cole School. I am looking forward to a great year! Here is some helpful information.

1. Session A meets Mon, Wed, and Thurs. from 8:40 –3:10.
2. Please send your child to school with a backpack daily. It should be large enough to hold several 9x12 papers and close securely. I will provide your child with a white folder to carry papers back and forth between home and school.
3. Absences- Please call the office before school begins if your child is going to be absent.
4. Late for school- Please check in at the office if you arrive after 8:40.
5. Children picked up before dismissal- Please go directly to the office for them. Do not come directly to the classroom for security/safety reasons.
6. Children being picked up- Park you car in the parking lot in front of the school and go into the lobby for pick up. Please pick up promptly.
7. Snack- Please send a quick manageable snack for a.m. There will be time at the end of the day for a snack as well if your child tends to be hungry. Water bottles are best and we do have a water fountain in the room.
8. Lunches- It is preferred that your child buys lunch tickets on Monday for the week. Please put your child’s name and lunch choice on the back of the ticket. I also ask that you review the lunch menu with your child so that they know what they are to choose for lunch.
9. Please label all backpacks, lunch boxes, jackets, boots.
10. Gym- Children should wear appropriate clothing and sneakers on gym day.
11. Class lists- will be addressed at Parent’s Night.
12. Library- All books must be returned before new ones can go  home. Please help your child remember to bring    his/her book on library day.
13. Specialists- Music and Computer- Monday
                       Gym and Spanish- Wednesday
                           Library and Art – Thursday
14. Parent help- If you are interested in helping in the classroom, I will have sign up sheets available during Parent Night.

Please feel free to call me at school with any questions or concerns. If I am unavailable to take your call, my voice mail will answer and I will return your call as soon as possible. I am in the building on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I look forward to a great kindergarten year.
