Introduction

We have just finished reading John Steinbeck's classic novel, "Of Mice
and Men." It is now time to explore the elements of the novel. We will be
taking a close look at the following 8 elements; theme, characterization,
setting, plot, conflict, symbolism, the title, and the dream. As you
progress through this journey and relate the above terms to the novel you
will have a better understanding of how John Steinbeck hoped to portray the
larger than life dream through the eyes of a few isolated migrant
workers.

Below is a list of project objectives. Upon completion of this project you
should have reached all of these goals. Good Luck!

novel and answer teacher generated, as well as group generated questions

3. Students will make connections between the elements of the novel and
today's society

4. Students will recognize and explain the elements of the novel and apply
them to a group generated media production

5. Students will preent these projects with a clear focus, coherent
organization, and sufficient detail
