Students will be evaluated according to the following rubric:
Theme (10 points)- Students need to touch on at least 3 different themes in
the novel and explain each in detail by providing specific examples from the
novel
Symbolism (10 points)- students must provide the symbolic meaning of the
characters names in the novel and explain each in detail
Plot (10 points)- Students must provide a detailed summary of each chapter
in the novel
Characterization (10 points)- The students must include all of the
characters and supply a detailed description of each including all of the
elements of characterization
Conflict (10 points)- The students must provide at least 5 examples of
conflict throughout the novel touching on all 3 types of conflict
Setting (10 points)- The students must provide a detailed description of the
setting for each chapter in the novel
Title (10 points)- The students must explore the meaning of the title, where
it comes from, and who it comes from and explain in a detailed summary
"The Dream" (10 points)- The students must explore all aspects of "the
dream" and analyze and explain it in a detailed summary
Typed copy of the content (5 points)- the students must provide a typed
version of all the content that contains all of the group memebers names
Visual (10 points)- The students must have a visual, to go along with the
content of the project that is creative and effort based
Participation (5 points)- all members of the group must participate and give
input to the final production and oral presentation
