Do we use cursive in 6th grade?

Yes, we use cursive on most every assignment.  You will be told when cursive 
is not necessary.

Do I need to include a proper heading on my assignments?

Yes, unless there is no place to put one.

Will I have homework every night?

You can expect a reasonable amount of homework each school day- more if you 
do not complete your in-class assignments.  Long-term assignments and 
projects will sometimes need to be worked on over the weekend.

Can I do extra credit to improve my grade?

Opportunities for extra credit are very rare in 6th grade.  We would rather you do your best on each and 
every assignment, therefore eliminating the need to ask for extra credit.

Who will teach each subject?

Mrs. Walker teaches math and science.  Ms. Andersen teaches ELA and social studies (world geography). 
Each teacher assigns the spelling lesson to her own homeroom class.

How do I find out about the work that was assigned when I was absent?

You can check the agenda board, check the website, ask a friend, and ask the teachers.   It is your 
responsibility as a student to find out what you missed.

Will we have a snack time in school?

Yes, you will have a chance to eat a small snack.  Please do not bring candy.
