What's Happening?

Week of 12/7:

Welcome to a new week of school. Report cards are being sent home in
envelopes on Monday.

We look forward to meeting with parents during parent conferences on
Wednesday and Thursday. Please also plan to stop by the book fair during
conference times and browse the great selection of books.

The can food and winter outerwear drive is in its last days. Please try to
donate some items by December 11th to help those in need. Thank you!

Part of every student's weekly homework is to study for tests and quizzes.
Please review concepts at home with your child to help him/her be prepared.

In spelling, we are on lesson 11.

In ELA, students are continuing to find and discuss types of figurative
language. In grammar, we will be reviewing rules for capitalization. In
reading, we will continue our work with the novel Tuck Everlasting.

In math, we are working with improper fractions and mixed numbers.

In social studies, we are continuing to study South America.

In science, we are working on endangered animal research.

Please check both the website and agenda books for important homework
assignments and due dates.

Students should have a book in school at all times for independent reading.
Both Ms. Andersen and Mrs. Walker have classroom libraries from which
students may choose books.
