Welcome to a new week!! Miss Leek and Miss Varley are going to try and keep our webpage updated to keep everyone informed on what is going on in our classrooms. Just in case we are unable to update our web page make sure you are writing in your agenda each night! :) We are also going to be adding a link so you will be able order books from Scholastic online. Make sure you check back on our page so you can order online when it is up and running. Thank you, ~Miss Varley and Miss Leek __________________________________________________________________________ Make sure you are studying your spelling words from your spelling notebook. The words are in your agenda. The words inside the spelling notebook are going to be the ones you are tested on Friday! *Please sit with your child on Mondays to make a plan for accomplishing spelling homework in 3 nights. *You should be reading at least 20 minutes each night in order to complete your reading log! In Social Studies, we are discussing Vikings and beginning our timeline project. In Science, we are still studying life science. The kids have written great essays and created their imaginary animals out of clay. We will start learning about Ecosystems after Thanksgiving. We are focusing on division in math. Your child may be showing you new ways to divide that are easier for them for now. Just like with multiplication, the traditional algorithm is the most efficient way to divide, but the students are also being introduced to the partial quotient method. Please remember to check the website for important information and feel free to email us if you have any questions. eleek@slrsd.org or svarley@slrsd.org
