Homework is assigned daily Monday-Thursday. All assignments are recorded in the Agenda Book. Please check your child's Agenda Book each night and record that you are aware of the assignments given. Thank you for your support!Reading - Students are expected to read for 100 minutes each week. For example, students could read 20 minutes a day, for 5 days. Each Friday an At-Home Reading Record will be sent home to be filled out throughout the week. This reading record is due back on the following Friday to keep track of your child's reading. The Book Log Template is available in the Parent/Student Resources section.Spelling - Each week students will be given spelling words. Throughout the week they will have homework to practice these spelling words. On Fridays, students will have a spelling test. Spelling activities and logs are available in the Parent/Student Resource section. Math - Math homework will be given on most week nights. The homework assigned will be to practice a skill learned during school. - Students are also responsible for learning given multiplication/division tables each week and will be quizzed on Fridays. Students need be able to complete 30 facts within 2 minutes with two or less errors. Please look in the link section for ways to practice facts at home. -Students should also use the IXL website to review/practice math skills covered in class. A good goal is to practice skills on this site for at least 45 minutes a week. Science/Social Studies - For each unit in Science and Social Studies, students may be given a quiz/test to assess their understanding of new concepts. Study guides will go home as a tool for practicing skills and they will also be reviewed and practiced in school.
