Book Links

Teen Book Review Sites

This group of links will provide you with reviews of the top books out there
for kids your age. Many of these links allow you to search by genre and
author. This will help you create a 'wish list' of books for SSR, but more
importantly, if you are a book lover, these sites will give you a place to
share your love of books with other kids of similar interests.

FlamingNet bills itself as, "your source for reviews and recommendations on
past, present, and future preteen, teen, and young adult books." The reviews
are written by teens, but the best feature of the site is its content rating
system. This will help you avoid books for older teens.

Teen Ink is a website based on the monthly tabloid-format magazine which is
marketed to, and written by, teenagers. It is based in Newton, Massachusetts,
and published by the Young Authors Foundation, a non-profit organization. The
magazine's name was originally The 21st Century. They changed the name to
Teen Ink when we entered the 21st Century. This site is good, but it is very
busy featuring much more than just book reviews.

Reading Rants, a website featuring out of the ordinary booklists for teens,
has been an online presence since 1998. Written by Jennifer Hubert and
designed by Andrew Mutch, Reading Rants has become a popular book review
source for teenagers as well as their grown-ups. In May 2007, Andrew
transformed the original website into an interactive blog, where teens can not
only respond to Jen’s reviews but write their own. In my opinion, this site
has the best look and is the easiest to navigate.
