Dear Parents,¡Hola and welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful, restful vacation.
Here’s what’s happening in Spanish class this month.

This victory became a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism.
The Burrell Elementary School will have their Big Annual Fiesta in the Café to help students understand this special day.In first grade,We are practicing numbers up to 30 and reciting birthday dates in Spanish. We will also practice weather expressions. , students continue to learn the days of the week and the months of the year. They will then learn about Family members and pets. The end of the year will be devoted to Farm Animals.
In second grade, students have been reviewing months and learning the Spanish alphabet. Our next unit will be based on clothing and seasons of the year. The end of the year will also be devoted to Farm Animals.
In third grade, some classes are working on a unit about food, which includes the project, “Mi libro de comida” (My Book of Food). Other classes are working on a unit about “La casa” (The house and items inside houses).
In fourth grade, students are learning about countries inCentral Americaand theCaribbean, as well as food vocabulary. This unit will culminate in a skit based on “el restaurante” (the restaurant).
We encourage students to continue to practice their Spanish as much as they can.
They can teach new words and phrases to younger siblings, friends, or even to their parents! Have fun with it and remember the more you practice, the better you become!Sincerely,Sra.
