 What is the PTO? The PTO is an Organization of Parents and Teachers committed to enriching the educational and social experience of students and their families. The Taylor Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes new and returning <st1:place><st1:placename>Taylor</st1:placename> <st1:placename>School</st1:placename></st1:place> families. We fund enrichment programs and field trip transportation, coordinate family events for the <st1:city><st1:place>Taylor</st1:place></st1:city> community and volunteer to support the school in many different ways.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>
&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
Parental involvement in education contributes to student achievement in school. Studies have shown that when families are involved in children's learning at school and at home everyone benefits. The Charles G. Taylor PTO's mission is:<o:p></o:p>

Taylor Elementary School by providing support for their educational and recreational needs and to open communication between the adminstration, students, parents and teachers;<o:p></o:p> </LI><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-pagination: none; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;" class="MsoNormal">to foster a sense of pride, support and enthusiasm thru fund-raising and other activities and to promote a positive school/community relationship that will enhance the students' educational environment;<o:p></o:p> </LI><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-pagination: none; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;" class="MsoNormal">to promote and help develop a cooperative work relationship between parents and teachers;<o:p></o:p> </LI><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-pagination: none; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;" class="MsoNormal">to serve as a forum for the discussion of parents concerns and provide recommendations to the school administration.<o:p></o:p> </li></ul>

Volunteer efforts range from a wide variety of in-school support services to coordinating <st1:city><st1:place>Taylor</st1:place></st1:city>'s participation in family and community events. Each year an assortment of fund raising programs are offered so that families have choices in how they participate. Funds are used for enrichment programs, field trip transportation, and school pride events as well as for other PTO approved expenses that benefit our school and community.<o:p></o:p>

It is our intention to create a welcoming "Taylor Family" that encourages families to participate in both educational and social events that build pride in our school and in our community.<o:p></o:p>

Read the PTO Handbook for details of the many projects we hope to accomplish each year with the support of dedicated parent volunteers like you. Thanks to the many PTO members who have chaired, joined committees and worked very hard during the summer to get things started as well as throughout the school year.<o:p></o:p>
&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
If you'd like to become more involved, we encourage you to join us. The small group atmosphere of committees makes it easy to get to know other parents as you work together to support the school. There are lots of involvement opportunities with many different levels of time and commitment involved. We have projects that can be done day or night and from home or at <o:p></o:p>
the school!<o:p></o:p>

PTO information and news will be posted on this website and in the school's weekly newsletter, TAYLOR MADE NEWS. Notices of activities and events are sent home with children.<o:p></o:p>
&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
PTO meetings are usually held the second Tuesday of each month at <st1:time hour="19" minute="0">7:00 p.m.</st1:time> in the cafeteria or library of the <st1:place><st1:placename>Taylor</st1:placename> <st1:placename>School</st1:placename></st1:place>. &nbsp;Babysitting is provided by Foxborough High School National Honor Society members, free of charge. &nbsp;PTO meeting minutes are posted on the website after each PTO meeting.<o:p></o:p>
