Response Papers

The Weekly Response Paper
Each week, you will be asked to write a short (3--5 paragraph) paper responding to a "text"--which could be a poem or a newspaper story, but could also be a picture, a short quote, or even a dictionary definition of a word. Whatever you write, it should be something you find interesting, and, ideally, other students would like to read, too.
•  Download directions on writing the weekly paper here. •  You can view samples from past students here. •  Download a copy of the grading rubric for the _revised_ papers--due each 3 or 4 weeks--here.
•  Visit the Response Texts area of the class website for things to write about. •  Download extra materials on how the 6 Traits grading system for writers works.
Remember to use paragraph breaks, to cite your source, and to space both rough drafts and final drafts on EVERY OTHER LINE. Good luck!
