Kindergarten dismissal information

Student Arrival and Dismissal information

Great Oak Elementary School

•	Morning Arrival for students is at 7:55 AM
•	In good weather, students will proceed to the playground behind the building
•	During inclement weather, students will proceed through the cafeteria doors and sit in the
cafeteria
•	Students are not to use the playground equipment from 7:55-8:20 AM

2:15 Dismissal (Monday through Friday)

•	Children are grouped according to where they are going at dismissal
•	Children who take a bus will be walked to the bus line by a teacher. Kindergarten children who
ride a school bus, will NOT be let off the bus if there is not an adult at the stop to meet the child. If
you would like your child to get off the bus with a sibling, you must send a note to the bus driver.
•	Children who go to FUN CLUB and the YMCA will be met by the instructor near the office.
•	Those children who will be picked up at dismissal time by a parent (or authorized adult) will be
walked out the KINDERGARTEN SIDE DOOR and they should be met by their parent at the end of the
school sidewalk on Pickering St., nearest Vineyard St. at 2:25 PM . Parents should meet the child on
the sidewalk and not come up to the school. Please do not drive into the staff parking lot or in the
school circular drive. The Kindergarten side door is the door located closest to the staff parking lot to
the right of the front door if you are facing the building. The door is numbered as well #2.

•	Even if you are picking up other children at Great Oak, we ask that you meet your Kindergartner
at the above place and ask your older child(ren) to walk out the Kindergarten side door at dismissal
time.

To avoid interfering with the school buses and to ensure the safety of all children, we ask that these
procedures be adhered to.

We know that this is a lot of information, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give
us a call and ask. We are happy to help.

Thank you,

Matt Fusco – Principal
