December 6, 2009 Hello Everyone, Well I lost the negotiations with my wife so I will be attending my nephews laser party today and not running in the Jolly Jaunt. I figure it is a good lesson for my kids to see that sometimes you have to give up doing the things you may want to do for the greater good. Tomorrow is our conference day. Therefore there is no school. I am always so pleased with the number of parents that come in to hear about their child's progress in school. This is so important to show your child that you are concerned and interested in how they are doing at school. Having worked in an urban district before Danvers, I know how important parent involvement is to having our students succeed at school. It means everything. This week we will be continuing the good work that has gone on all year at Great Oak. The teachers and myself have been pouring over data in mathematics and have been concentrating on strategies and scores that need improvement over the last several 1/2 days. Please make sure that during this busy time of holiday shopping, parties etc. that you keep your children on a schedule of early bedtimes and rest. The holidays are not only a challenging time for us but also a challenging time for the children as the excitement and festivities can overwhelm the children. Make sure you are constantly talking with your child about being a good friend, taking care of the school and showing respect to all members of the Great Oak community. I would like to thank the PAC members and the parent volunteers that made the ice cream social a wonderful success. I would also like to thank Mrs. Swaine, Mrs. Krasovec, Mrs. Miraglia, Mrs. Webster and all the volunteers that helped out at the book fair as well. Report cards will be going home on the 18th of December. My daughters just got theirs. They were pretty good but there are a few things that they can improve upon. The deal at my house is that if the grades are good, we go out to dinner. Bertucci's here we come! Have a great rest of the week. Take Care, Mr. Fusco Go Pats! *** please check out the new "volunteer" link on the website! Thanks Mrs. Plante!
