October was a fun and productive month.
Routines
Our routines are now set in place and an easy part of our day. Students know
our schedule and are comfortable when transitioning activities. We rotate
tables smoothly at literacy centers and know our choices when we finish all of
our table jobs!
Autumn
Our first two weeks of October focused on Autumn. The students completed a
Fall book, discussed the properties of Fall trees, and reviewed the
similarities and differences between the four seasons.
Pumpkin Weeks
We focused on pumpkins for two weeks and do everything pumpkin related! Our
main focus was on the life cycle of an pumpkin.
Pumpkin Day was very successful! Thank you so much for donating pumpkins and
coming in to our classroom to help us paint our pumpkins.
Treasures
Our literacy curriculum is now in full swing! We have already learned five
sight words and focused on three letters. Students are beginning to read
sight word and rebus books.
