Grade 3 math tutors: TBD 2008-2009
STAR reading students in grade 3 participate in the Read Naturally program.
This is a strategic intervention program designed to support those students
who need to improve their vocabulary, reading fluency and reading
comprehension. In addition some students will receive extra phonics
practice with a computer based program published by Lexia Learning. The
Green Meadow school will be piloting a new phonics proram in 2008-2009
called Project read.
Third grade STAR math students are working on reinforcing basic addition
and subtraction facts and following the Scott Foresman/Addison Wesley math
curriculum. They are working on solving word problems and practicing writing
complete short answers to math questions in preparation for the spring MCAS
tests.
