FAQThis page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What happens if I do not have my homework? First, you will write your name in the homework notebook unless you have a homework pass. The homework pass is good for one subject. Bring in your missing homework the following day and put a check next to the missing assignment. What happens if I do not have my homework on a regular basis? If homework that is not frequently completed becomes a problem then I will have to contact your parents so we can try to solve the problem together. What if I don't understand what to do on the homework? First, read the directions two times. Next, ask an adult to help you if an adult is available. Call your homework buddy to get their opinion. Lastly, when all else fails, write me a note or have mom or dad write me a note. This way I know you have really tried hard to get it completed. I will go over the assignment with you the following day. Will I have to make up missing work when I am absent? When you are absent for an extended period of time, it is a good idea to have someone pick up some of your work when you start to feel better. When you get back to school not all of the work will have to be completed but important assignments like quizzes, tests, or assessments will have to be completed by you eventually. Will the there be MCAS testing in third grade? If so, when? The third graders across Massachusetts have MCAS English/Language Arts testing usually the last week of March for three days. This year, all third graders had MCAS Math testing in May as well. Do third graders celebrate birthdays? In third grade, we celebrate birthdays during snack time. Parents can send in a book for the class to read, a pencil for each child or some other small token to show it is a special day. This year we are trying to get away from sugary treats for birthday celebrations. What field trips will we go on? In the third grade we usually go on one field trip. Last year we went to Minuteman National Park in Lexington/Concord. In previous years we have visited Plimoth Plantation. |
