I have been teaching Second Grade at the Hansen School since 1987. I love
seven and eight year olds with their inquisitive nature, fun loving spirit,
and their eagerness to learn.
I am the mother of three adult children, Stephanie, Sara, and Jonathan, who
are currently living away from home and establishing their own lives. I am
also the proud grandmother of a little girl, Lauren Meghan and a little boy,
Charles Justin. Because this family lives so close, I have a special
opportunity to see both grandchildren often and watch them grow. My husband
and I join with all our children for family events, holidays, and "just
because". We remain in constant touch with each other.
I enjoy reading and love to curl up on the sofa with a good book!
I believe every child has the potential to succeed. He/she must be provided
with the resources and a stimulating environment that will foster that
development. To encourage this, I have created a learner-centered classroom.
In this non-judgmental environment, the children can progress intellectually,
socially, emotionally, and physically.
My goal is to nurture the habits of a life long learner in each of
my students, to encourage him/her to be a creative and critical thinker. My
mission is to guide, stimulate, and reinforce the development, integration,
and talents of the whole child.
