Announcements

I can't believe that it is November and we have been in school for 43 days
already! Time is really flying by. It was a pleasure meeting with all of
you for parent teacher conferences. Thank you for taking time out of your
busy schedules to meet with me, and I'm sorry if your scheduled time wasn't
exactly when we met. In November we will focus on subtraction facts for our
weekly tests. Many scores aren't as high as students are quicker with their
addition facts. Make sure you practice your facts at home each night for a
few minutes!! Students have received their first at home project to
culminate our animal and habitat unit. Please don't worry if we haven't
learned very much about the habitat yet...we are working everyday to learn
new habitats and gain information that would be useful for their project. We
will display these for the school to see and parents will be invited to join
and celebrate our projects in December. We are working in our second reading
unit and students may have switched to a new teacher. This is completely
normal as our groups are "flexible" and change all the time. We will also
begin working soon to practice for the Thanksgiving assembly that will occur
at the end of the month. November will be a quick but busy month for us!
