Happy New Year!
Here we are in 2010...I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and had time to
relax and enjoy.
It was great to see so many families attend the Holidays fair and I want to
congratulate all of the students on a terrific job. It was evident that the
kids worked very hard on these projects. I realize that the project was due
at a busy time of year and appreciate your assistance.
As your child may have told you, our class won the Student Council Coin Drive.
Room 17 overwhelmingly voted to donate the money to the Stoughton Animal
Shelter. Later this week, Officer Murphy will visit us to accept a check and
pet beds made by the fifth graders.
As we gear up for MCAS, students will now be required to complete 45 minutes
of Study Island time each week. Each Tuesday I will check to see that the
time has been completed. The next time I will check Study Island is Tuesday
January 12th.
This week, we will begin the third unit of the reading program as well as
work on Unit 5 in math.
Finally, I am asking that all students bring in a small picture of
themselves. It could be a headshot or a full length picture. I will be
cutting it for a project I am doing. I would appreciate if the picture could
be in by Wednesday.
I look forward to a great start to the New Year.
