I graduated from Trinity College and I have a Masters in Education from the
Unversity of Hartford and a Masters in Library Science from Simmons
College.
I have worked for the Holliston Schools for eighteen years. I have three
children--my oldest daughter, Jessie lives in San Diego, my son Peter works
in the Boston area, and my youngest daughter, Mary, is in her second year at
the Hartt School of Music. All three are graduates of Holliston High School.
Goals for the library are:
1. All children should find time to come to the library for books and many
classes will hear stories in the story room.
2. Children will learn about the many different kinds of books available
in libraries and begin to learn about how books in the library are arranged.
3. Children will select books that help them gain confidence and enjoyment
in reading and support the school's literacy objectives.
4. Children should use the library to answer questions, get information,
and pursue interests through the use of the nonfiction collection.
5. Both older Placentino students and Miller students will learn to use the
library to investigate topics that are part of the curriculum--the library
becomes an integral extension of the classroom.
