Swim lessons at Boston University pool for ages 5 and up.

We are offering a new class for children and adults with special needs here
at the Boston University Fitness and Recreation Center. This is starting as a
learn to swim program and we are hoping to offer higher levels once we get
this program started.

Individual swim lessons designed for adults and children with special
needs. Students will be accompanied into the pool with a dedicated American
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor to work on life-saving skills and
introductory swimming skills in addition to having fun in the water. A
parent or other adult is welcome to accompany the student into the water
and explore the pool with them. Lessons will aim to improve strength,
endurance and coordination while promoting a safe and fun atmosphere at a
time when the pool is closed to other activities. The individual attention
from the instructors will also help build self-esteem in a new learning
environment. Each lesson will be planned for 45 minutes allowing for an
additional 15 minutes to provide a smooth transition in and out of the
pool. Our pool has a zero depth entry to provide easy access into the
water, a lazy river with a gentle current and is kept at 85 degrees. If you
have any questions with regards to your family's individual needs, please
feel free to contact us. A thorough questionnaire will be sent to
participants once they are registered.

Sundays 4-5pm March 25-April 29
