Students will have Wellness 3 days in the 6 day cycle.
Students who have Wellness on days 1,2,4 will have class in the gymnasium
on days 1 & 4, and be in classroom 212 on day 2. This schedule will be the
same for the entire year
Students who have Wellness on days 3,5,6 will have class in the gymnasium on
days 3 & 6, and be in classroom 212 on day 5. This schedule will be the
same for the entire year.

Mission Statement: The goal of the middle school Wellness program is to make
students aware of Wellness as a lifetime commitment. This will be
accomplished by offering students activities and information that will
provide them with the tools to make healthy choices.
What is Wellness-Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of, and
making choices toward, a more successful existence in the physical,
spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, and occupational/leisure domains
of daily life.
� Grades will be given twice during the year
� The following areas are graded:
1. Principles of Wellness
2. Development &Application of Motor Skills
3. Effort, Participation & Social Responsibility.
� Grading will be on a numerical scale.
� Progress reports will be sent home.
� All major units are assessed with written tests or quizzes.

Fitness Testing
Testing is done in the fall and spring. Each student receives a print out of
their results. The goal is to perform in the healthy fitness zone.
