Reading in 4Si

Reading can be easier with practice.

Read it like you mean it. Working on Fluency

Poetry is a great way to practice reading with inflection. In class we
practice reading like we are talking. Reading poetry helps because the lines
are broken into phrases. Then by changing an accented word (underlining and
stressing a word more than the others on the line) we can see how the meaning
changes just by changing the tone of our voice.

Using games to exercise visual memory.

Puzzle games help to exercise visual
memory. Try some of the games at Yahoo! Games - puzzle games to get a good
ten minute work out. "Bejeweled2" is a great start and "Jewel Quest 2" is
even more of a challenge. It may seem like you are just playing but you are
training your brain to find patterns. This helps to read word patterns and
with spelling (as an added bonus, it also helps to memorize math facts). Good
old-fashion jigsaw puzzles are another great way to exercise your visual memory.
