The Day Before Thanksgiving Break we always have the Monopoly Championship.
The Monopoly Championship Rules-Occurs the day before Thanksgiving vacation.

Course Descriptions:
Math grade 8 - Students follow organized procedures to
solve problems correctly and to justify their solutions. Their methodologies
and terminology are accurate, appropriate, insightful, and creative. The
work
is persuasive through the use of precise mathematical language as students
discuss and write their procedures and solutions.
A variety of explanatory tools are used to make convincing arguments. Facts
and arguments are appropriate to the subject or topic. Verbal and algebraic
models, appropriate materials, and a variety of approaches to solve a
problem.
Through real world problems and applications, students understand
connections
between mathematics and other subject areas.
Algebra One- Grade Eight
During this course, students will apply algebra to real life problems. They
will interpret data from tables, charts, and graphs. Students will
recognize
the four basic functions: linear, quadratic, absolute value, and
exponential.
Students will transform equations through symbolic manipulations. Students
will use scientific calculators and computers to aid in higher level
thinking
problems. They will be assessed through tests, quizzes, nightly
homework,projects, and classroom observations.
Students should be self-motivated and be able to work independently. They
should exhibit mathematical curiosity and insightful thinking. It is
expected
that students will choose an appropriate problem solving strategy in order
to
complete tests and quizzes during given time constraints.
Prerequisite: Mastery of ractions, decimals, percents, one and two step
equations, and integers is required upon the completion of grade seven.
Homework Policy-
Nightly homework will be given. Students should check my website on
TeacherWeb.com. Late work will not receive credit unless the student was
absent. Please refer to Student& Parent Handbook pages 12 and 13.
Grading Policy-
Homework average counts once.
Tests and Major Projects count twice
Quizzes and mini-projects count once.
Classroom policies-
