| Directions for Pre-Algebra project We may not have time to do this during
the 2008 school year.
We are studying the Stock Market this term to practice what we learned about
positive and negative numbers.
You will purchase $5000 worth of a company of your choosing.
You will write down the closing prices for 5 days
You will decide whether or not you will invest in this company.
You will determine how much money was gained or lost in 5 days.
Make a useful product-no food or drink
Pick five random numbers out of the envelope I give you in class.
Decide where you want to spend the money-
travel,salaries,production,miscellaneous, or maintenance.
Convert the numbers in column one of the worksheet I give you in class to
percentages in column 2
Convert the percentages to degrees by multiplying by 360 degrees-place in
column 3
Write a sentence or two explaining why you spent the money you did.
Construct a circle graph of the data on the computer.
Use the posterboard I give you. This project counts as a test grade.
ALGEBRA ONE-Construct a booklet on 5 cars or trucks making number line
graphs of their fuel economy for city and highway. Use the E.P.A. link on my
website.
