2012-2013 marks my 11th year as an English/Language Arts teacher at King
Philip and it is very exciting to be back, starting a new school year! My
undergraduate degree is from the University of Rhode Island and I hold a
master's degree from Boston University. Before becoming an educator, I was a
clinical audiologist and also hosted a radio talk-show in Rhode Island. I am
married with two sons, one of whom is an MBA graduate and a partner of a web
design company based in Rhode Island. Our oldest son, Dr. Osborne, heads up
a research lab at Columbia University and lives in New Jersey with his wife
and 2-year old daughter, Oona. My family and I are ski + snowboard fans and
winter weekends will find us on the Vermont slopes. I recently discovered zip-
lining...and although it challenges my reluctance of heights, it is
exhilarating and fun! During the summer months, I can be found at the beaches
of Narragansett and Charlestown R.I., where I enjoy kayaking, biking,
watching my son play beach volleyball, listening to jazz, perfecting the
ultimate clam cake, and basking in the sun with a good novel. My passion is
cooking ~ and we often entertain family and friends with culinary creations
and good conversation!
I am the Drama Advisor for the KPMS Drama Club. Did you see Thoroughly Modern
Millie last spring? This year, our drama club will celebrate live theater
with another great musical! For all those interested in theater, acting,
props, or costumes, this is a fun club to join! Be sure to listen for the
announcements or see me for more information.
Language Arts is an important part of your education. It is a demanding and
fundamental subject which can be both challenging and fun. Through reading,
writing, presentations, and some interactive projects, it is my goal to
provide you with the tools necessary to succeed academically in high school,
as well as become successful in life.
