This is my 7th year as a Language Arts teacher at King Philip and it is very
exciting to be back, starting a new school year! I earned my undergraduate
degree from the University of Rhode Island and a master's degree from Boston
University. Before becoming an educator, I was a clinical audiologist and
also hosted a radio talk-show in Rhode Island. I am married with two sons,
one of whom is a senior psychology/business major at the University of Rhode
Island. Our oldest son is a Ph.D candidate in cellular biology at the
University of Vermont. My family and I are huge ski + snowboard fans and
winter weekends will find us on the Vermont slopes with friends. During the
warmer weather, I enjoy kayaking and biking; tending to my wild flower
garden, and getting into the reading zone with a good novel. I love to cook,
and often entertain friends and family with culinary delights!
For the past four years, I've been the Musical Director for the King Philip
Drama Club. Maybe you came to see one of our performances: School House Rock-
Live! or Seussical, Jr? For all those interested in theater, acting, props,
or costumes, this is a fun club to join! Be sure to check it out!
Language Arts is an important part of your education. It is a demanding and
fundamental subject which can be both challenging and fun. Through reading,
writing, presentations, and some interactive projects, it is my goal to
provide you with the tools necessary to succeed academically in high school,
as well as become successful in life.
