Welcome to 8th Grade World History!
Welcome to your second year at King Philip Middle School! Together we will start the year reviewing the causes for the decline and fall of the Roman Empire and the lasting contributions of this glorious empire in the modern world. From there we will learn about Europe during the Middle Ages, the Byzantine Empire, Islam, civilizations of Africa and Asia, and the Americas. As spring arrives we'll start to end our year exploring the Renaissance, the Age of Discovery, and the Enlightenment.
This website has been designed with you in mind! Please use this site as your one-stop destination for any history class questions. The site will be updated each week with homework assignments and graphic organizers/handouts that were distributed during class. If you find yourself having arrived at home without your agenda book, go online. If you are home sick and would like see what you missed, go online! It's easy and fast.
Also you will find your supply list on this site. After the first week or so of school, you should be all set. However, sometimes around January, you may need to refresh your supplies again. This list will stay up the entire year just in case you need a reminder of what is expected.
One more history related link, "Parents- Places to check out!" is Ms. Perrier's favorite historical sites around the area. If you love history or want to know more about a subject discussed in class, I suggest you and your parents check these links out! There are some great ideas for weekend outings or vacation week fun!
If you have any questions, ask away! Send me an email or ask at school, I am here to help you have a successful year here at King Philip Middle School.
