Bring in two typed copies of your poem for peer review
It should meet the criteria created in class:
Use the power of "I"
Write about ONE moment--like "Homemade Swimming Hole," the poem should be about a pebble
Use sensory language, figurative language or both (chocolate water)
Use present tense
Make sure each word counts: "Cut to the Bone"
Use strong verbs
Begin inside the action, start in the "midst"
End strongly, conclusion should resonate
Have a powerful message, craft a "So What?"
Craft lines and stanzas that work
Make the punctuation and capitalization work and make sense
