What's Going on in 1G?

May 13, 2012

With May underway, we have a very busy few weeks ahead of us.  Please refer to our class calendar for updates.  On Friday, students presented their final book reports.  There was a great variety of projects, including puppet shows, book readings, and models, to name a few.  Thank you to all of the parents that were able to come into the classroom to watch.

This week will be our final week for homework, and it is just a simple end of the year reflection that can be turned in anytime during the week.  Please encourage your child to think about their word choice and to write a first grade paragraph (4-6 sentences).

We currently have enough chaperones to accompany our class to the deCordova Museum on Friday, May 25th; however, we are still in need of chaperones for DPW Day on Thursday, May 31st.  If you would like to join us that day, please send in a note this week.  Because the DPW Day field trip form was sent home the same week as the deCordova, I think that the slips may have been confused.  I have only received 3 permission slips.  Please send this permission slip in, or a note requesting a new one.  Also our Melrose Public Library visit is on Friday, June 1st.  The permission slip will be going home this week.  If you would like to chaperone for that field trip, please send in a note accompanying the permission slip.

I have had a few parents sign up for conferences.  If you would like an end of the year conference, please email me or stop by our classroom to schedule a time.

Our wish list page has been updated, and we are definitely in need of disinfecting wipes as they end of the year is fast approaching!  Thank you for all of your donations in advance.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  I hope you all enjoyed your cards and plants.  Have a Happy Mother's Day weekend!

Thank you,
Ms. G
