
Mrs. Schlenger is the School Psychologist and Educational Team Facilitator for the Lincoln School. She has worked as a school psychologist for 14 years, 7 years in Melrose and 5 years at the Lincoln School. In the role as School Psychologist Mrs. Schlenger helps diagnose learning disabilities, counsels students and consults with school staff and families around emotional and learning difficulties.
An educational team facilitator is the special education administrator who starts the process when teachers or parents are concerned about a students learning and suspect a disability. In this role, Mrs. Schlenger organizes special education meetings and organizes the school based special education process.
Ms. Valcour is the school social worker at the Lincoln Elementary School and the Franklin Early Childhood Center. She has worked as a social worker for seven years, and two of those years have been in Melrose. In her role as a school social worker Ms. Valcour provides individual and group counseling for children struggling with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties. Ms. Valcour also runs social skills groups at both the Lincoln and Franklin Schools.
