Science Homework

Updated 12/14/09

I update this website each Sunday night (or Monday if it is a holiday). I
also have the homework written up on the white board in my classroom. I
assign the homework for the entire week, so that students know what they will
have due from one Monday until the following Monday.

If you would like to be notified when I update my website, please sign up on
the News Flash feature (back at the home page).

This week's homework:
BE SURE TO USE THE HOMEWORK GRADING RUBRIC TO GUIDE YOUR WORK FOR REGULAR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS!

NOTE: Students should be working steadily on researching their science fair topic.  Notes should be taken in their science fair logbooks, and they should take care to record the information needed for a Works Cited page.
If students visit a library during non-school hours and get help with their research from a librarian, they can receive extra credit.  There is a form for this that was given out in class and posted on my website.

NOTE: The Life through Time booklet was assigned on Tuesday, December 8.  Students should be working on it steadily in order to turn it in on January 4.  We will work on it in class too, but some of the work will need to be done at home.

The 8th Grade Team's Late Work Policy:
The eighth grade team’s late work policy allows for late work to be turned in
for credit only by the end of that calendar week. If a child misses an
assignment on Monday, they will be allowed to turn it in by that Friday, four
days later. If a student misses an assignment on a Thursday, they will be
allowed to turn it in by that Friday, the next day. Exceptions will be made
for absences based on the rules in the student handbook. Work of greater
importance (such as projects or research papers) may be given more time at the
discretion of the teacher.
