NEW SPELLING WORDS
Some of you may have noticed that there are now two sets of spelling
words. From this point on, there will almost always be two sets.
The "Square Words" are a more advanced group of words. Although they are
titled "Square Words" you do NOT have to be in the square reading group to
get them. I have given this set of words to those children who have excelled
with spelling test grades up to this point. At any point during the year, a
child who is currently responsibe for the basic set of spelling words may
be given the "Square Words" due to an increase in his/her weekly spelling
test grades. At the same point, if the words become to difficult for a child
they will be moved back to the basic set.
As I said before, these words are more advanced so in turn a little more
studying may be necessary. Just the same, it is well worth the extra effort!
