Different Isn't Wrong, It's Just Different!
Students at this age need to learn not to judge people or things in a
negative way. Instead, they should learn to accept that it is different than
the way they would do things and respect other people's rights to be
different. Respect and understanding are at the core of my mission.
Our curriculum is the perfect vehicle to help students examine this crucial
perspective of understanding. We will study our world's first civilizations,
and students will be able to see and understand that we are not that
different from the people and cultures we are studying. Our world today is
struggling with the very same issues that people were struggling with
thousands of years ago.
Equality, leadership, education, technology, social class, and religion are
just a few of the areas we will connect to our world today.
Students should understand that the future of our society begins with them.
Therefore, they should think about what they want that society to look and
be like and work towards making it a reality.
