I've been teaching Kindergarten at Manchester's Memorial School for 21
years, the first 5 were as a teaching assistant (the perfect position when
my children were still at home!). Mrs. Christina Barrett has been with me
as my K. instructional assistant for the last 16 years. She also helps with
reading instruction in the first grade. At the beginning of my teaching
career I taught 5th gr. in Bloomington, CA and then 4th gr. in Beverly, MA.
I always feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be doing what I love
everyday.
I live in Manchester with my husband, Hardy. Hardy has been on the faculty
of the Manchester-Essex Regional Middle and High School for 42 years,
combining teaching for 35 years and being their Athletic Director for the
last 30 years. You can see where our years of devotion have been!! My son,
and his wife live in Pennsylvania with my two dear grandkids. My daughter
and her husband have a home in Beverly with my granddog, a sweet 2 yr.old
Saint Bernard. I know firsthand what a great education Manchester
youngsters receive... my two kids are the proof!
To strive to have the children be thinkers and problem solvers; to have the
children be kind, caring, and respectful people; and to have the children be
glad to be in school. They have so many years of school ahead of them... I
want them to like being there!
