Currently, the class is reading a wonderful historical fiction book by Elizabeth George Speare called The Sign of the Beaver.

Students have also been enjoying their own independent reading books and should be reading them both at home and at school. Students write a letter to me in their reader's notebook once a week in response to their independent reading and I write back them.

Students are finishing up reading non-fiction trade books in their guided reading groups and will be moving on to a fiction book.

The class continues to enjoy keeping up with current events and news with our weekly Time for Kids magazine.
