What is Coffin/Gerry Pride?

Coffin/Gerry Pride is committed to creating a sense of unity between our two
schools, and giving the students a true sense of community. Further, we
look to provie a scaffolding on which to build upon student civic
responsibility, reflecting the district values of respect for oneself, other
people and our community.

When should student's wear their Pride T-Shirts?

Students are encouraged to wear their pride t-shirts for all community
meetings, field trips and other designated school events. There will
typically be a reminder notice sent home for such events.
Some teachers choose to hold onto the pride shirts for the school year.
This makes it very easy for students to have their shirts for these events.

What can I (as a parent) do to help support Pride?

As part of the Pride mission, we encourage the concepts of "Teamwork,
Effort, Respect and Responsibility" while at school. We recommend using the
same language at home to provide consistency. This way the students will
learn that demonstrating "Teamwork, Effort, Respect and Responsibility" are
part of every day life.
Also, some Pride events cannot happen without parent volunteers. Check your
child's backpack for upcoming events that may require your help. Visit the
Pride Calendar for more information.
