Studio 3 Curriculum

April-May

In class:

Clay - two figures on plane. Due May 22.

Quiz:

Art History 4/9

Vermeer, Rembrant, Velazquez, Watteau, Chardin, Boucher, Vigee-Lebrun, Gainsborough

Outside Project:

Cray-pas in the style of.

4/16 - Letter to Mrs. Ryan about your chosen artist, why you chose him/her, and how you will represent their style in your piece. Letter is accompanied by a thumbnail sketch.

5/6 - Undersketch due (about 16x22 inches). Critique on composition in class. (Cray-pas may be checked out from my classroom and you may take as many pieces of paper as neeed!)

5/27 - Mid-way Cray-pas check in/critique in class. You should have half of the piece completed with cray-pas in the style of your artist.

6/19 - Final Cray-pas due

College search, due June 8:

Research.

 

  1. Choose one school from each column (list is in the classroom).  Place your name next to it - neatly.  One student per school/university/college.

 

  1. Research each school/university/college (online or send away for catalogues/info about the school).

 

Comparison report. 

 

  1. Research the location, size, price, programs, and the portfolio requirements.  Create a chart to present the research.

 

  1. For each, make a list of pros and cons.  Based on this list, choose one reason why you should apply to each school and one reason why you should not apply to each school.  Finally, choose which school you’d rather attend.  Explain your answer.
