Homework Policy

Mr. Shull’s Homework Policy

Doing your homework carefully each night helps you review and extend the
work that we do in class. It is also a good way to practice managing your
time – a skill you need to develop the older and busier you get. Your
assignment notebook is an essential tool for your success, especially with
our seven-day schedule where you may not have each team teacher each day.
Therefore, carefully recording your homework each day and using it as a
checklist each night will insure your success in seventh grade.

Homework Tips:

1.Be sure to copy daily assignments completely into your assignment notebook.

2.Use the proper heading – name, subject, block and date in the upper right-
hand corner of your paper. Homework that is nameless will be considered
  incomplete.

3.Use 3-holed binder paper and write neatly. Use a computer if you would
  like.

4.Set aside a regular time to do your homework each night and create a clear
and quiet space in your home to do the homework.

5.Use complete sentences and proofread when you are done. The 5 Minute Rule –
take five simple minutes to look over and add to homework to insure it’s
  complete.

Homework Grading System:

3 Points – Homework that is complete, on time, organized, and shows solid
           effort!

2 Points – Homework that is incomplete, late, and shows only a fair amount
           of effort.

1 Point – Homework that is incomplete, late, and/or shows minimal effort.

0 Points – Homework not passed in to the teacher.

Homework will be considered late if it is not submitted IN CLASS the day it
is due!
