About The Librarian/Media Specialist

Mrs. Woodfin is enjoying her 20th year at Neary School and her 25th year
working in school libraries. As much as she enjoys reading, her favorite activity is taking long walks
listening to audiobooks. Some of her recent favorites have been "Elijah of Buxton" by Christopher Paul
Curtis and "Rules" by Cynthia Lord.

Objectives of the Library

The Neary Library endeavors to meet the needs of the Neary community--
students, staff and families. The library serves a dual purpose--both as a
classroom and as a library providing resources for curricular and personal
reading needs. The library curriculum itself includes information literacy,
literature appreciation and library skills.

I so appreciate our library volunteers! They provide valuable support to the library by circulating and
shelving materials, as well as performing those extra time-consuming tasks such as book repair,
filing catalogs, and assembling curriculum carts. As with all Neary School volunteers, library
volunteers require CORI checks.
