The Once Upon  a Mine project is due on Monday December 7, 2009.  The typed autobiography will be collected from your group and then your group will present your advertisement.  Keep in mind the focus of the advertisement is that your mineral company is an ecosystem friendly company and that your oral presentation should include specific information about this.  The webquest has information about this topic and many of the links provided address this also.  Be prepared to tell me what you have learned from this research project.

Create a picture card for igneous rock, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock.  A picture card has a diagram or picture of the process on one side and a definition on the other side.  Use science text books for information.
 
Reminder that the autobiography needs to be typed up by onemember of your group.  The advertisement should be almost complete.  Rough drafts will be checked on Friday.  Presentations begin on Monday along with handing in of the final draft of the autobiography.

Work on the autobiography portion of the project.  Follow the story line that you and your project group came up with in class today.  The rough draft of the autobiography is due on Wednesday.  There will be NO additional class time given to work on the autobiography in class.  Make arrangements to meet with your partners if you need additional time. 

Also, bring in 2 print advertisements that catch you eye or that you think is interesting.  These ads will be used to launch ideas for the advertisement of your mineral company.  We will be working on these in class on Wednesday.

Complete Part II of the Seeing the Forest for the Lichen.  Re read the article.  Use the concept map given in class, make conncetions between lichens and the biosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and atmosphere.  The write a statement about what you have learned about the importance of Lichens.

Remove all the notes you have in the NOTES section of your notebook.  Do not remove any other papers from labs and projects or the journal section.  Remove only the notes you have in the notes section.

Due on Monday! Use your field notebook and find a natural setting.  Make a fall observation of this area and include information using  sight, smell, sound and touch.  Make sure this setting is one you can revisit in the winter and spring.
