Remove all the notes you have in the NOTES section of your notebook.  Do not remove any other papers from labs and projects or the journal section.  Remove only the notes you have in the notes section.

Due on Monday! Use your field notebook and find a natural setting.  Make a fall observation of this area and include information using  sight, smell, sound and touch.  Make sure this setting is one you can revisit in the winter and spring.

There is a study guide/ review sheet assigned for homework.  Begin to study for the test on topograpahical maps which is on Wednesday. This sheet will help you get started. There will be extra help after school on Tuesday until 3:45. Remember to get a ride home!

There will be a chapter test on Topographic Maps on Wednesday November 4, 2009.  I will hold an extra help session on Tuesday November 3rd after school.

 

Bulletin Board pictures are due on Monday.

 

Complete Part II of the Hiking/Backpacking Trip friendly letter.  Use the example given in class as a guide or use the syle manual whcih can be found on the Mountview webpages. The letter is to be typed and is due on Monday also.

#1.  Your class was assigned a part of the bulletin board to work on.  Bring in to school the materials your group needs to be put on the bulletin board.  This is due in class on Monday.

 

#2    Complete Part 1 of the Topographic Map Backpacker/ Hiker assignment.  Highlight a phrase in each paragraph and react to the text by writing one question or making a statement.  Write this in the margins next to the article.  There are 14 paragraphs, you must have one question or statement for each paragraph.  That means 14 statements must be written in the margins.  Part 1 is due on Thursday.

After a week of field trip related activities, we return to topographic maps.  Please read and highlight the section summary and answer the questions, front and the handout attached to the summary.

Using your text, read the section on Topographic Maps.  The passage begins on page 296 and ends on page 298.  Complete the Section 8-4 Review by completing the questions on p 299.  Complete all 4 questions, write out the question, and answer in complete sentences.

 

The Density open response quiz requires a signature.

Complete the determining density practice worksheet for homework tonight.  Remember to review your density notes in preparation for the open response question to be given in class tomorrow.

Written homework for tonight is to read p 28 and 29 on Density in your text book at home and write a summary.  This summary needs to be a minimum of 3 sentences.
